Pool Repair and Resurfacing Services in Lee County, FL
Six kinds of pool work, from the equipment that moves and heats the water to the finish, tile and deck. Here is how to tell which one your pool needs.
Last updated
Pool Resurfacing
A new interior finish for a worn pool: marcite plaster, quartz or pebble, from draining and preparing the shell to the refill and start-up.
Leak Detection and Repair
Finding where a pool is losing water, from the pump seals and pipe joints to the suction and return lines, and repairing the leak once it is found.
Pool Pump Repair
Repair or replacement of a pool pump that hums but will not start, will not prime, leaks at the seal or trips the breaker.
Pool Heater Repair
Repair or replacement of gas pool heaters and heat pumps that run without heating, ice up, show an error code or leave water under the unit.
Pool Remodeling
A renovation that goes beyond a new finish: waterline tile, coping, steps, lights and equipment, planned as one project.
Pool Deck Resurfacing
A new surface for a worn or cracked pool deck: a slip-resistant acrylic coating over the concrete, or pavers.
Which pool service do you need?
Start with what is wrong, not with the name of the service.
The water is dropping. Run a bucket test first. If the pool loses more than the bucket, pool leak detection finds where, with pressure tests on the plumbing and dye at suspect spots, and covers the repair.
The equipment has stopped. A pump that hums, will not prime or leaks at the seal is pool pump repair. A heater or heat pump that runs without heating, ices up or shows an error code is pool heater repair. Lights, filters, salt cells and automation are general repairs; choose “Other pool repair” on the request form.
The finish has worn out. Rough, etched, stained or hollow-sounding plaster across the pool is pool resurfacing: a new interior finish of marcite, quartz or pebble.
More than the finish needs work. When the waterline tile, coping, steps or lights go with the finish, the job is pool remodeling. Pebble Technology International’s planning guide says that in a remodel “the pool finish and waterline tile are usually completed at the same time.”
The deck is the problem. Worn, cracked or slippery concrete around the pool is pool deck resurfacing: a slip-resistant coating, or pavers.
Resurfacing, remodeling or repair
The three are easy to confuse. Resurfacing replaces the interior finish and nothing else; SGM, a Florida finish maker, calls it the better fix “when wear is widespread”. Remodeling is several components planned as one project. Repair is equipment, plumbing and leaks, the work that keeps the water clean, moving and warm. Replastering is resurfacing with plaster, so the resurfacing page covers it.
